Since American actress Meghan Markle became engaged to Prince Harry, the royal watchers can’t stop comparing her to her future sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge. Everything from their lipsticks to the way they pose in front of the cameras has been carefully scrutinized.
It is safe to say that the women are very different in many ways, but they do seem to have similar tastes in fashion, more so in shoes.
The beautiful ladies chose very similar shoes for the Commonwealth Day service, which took place at Westminster Abbey. Looking closely at the photos from the event, we can see that they both wear almost identical navy heels, which made many people think that they decided to wear matching shoes for the occasion.
Even though they looked very similar, they were actually different – Markle wore £450 Manolo Blahnik heels, while Middleton chose her trusty Rupert Sanderson Malory pumps, in which she has been spotted in a number of events. People, who noticed the women’s footwear, took to social media to voice their thoughts about their choice.
Kate and Meghan wore similar outfits quite a handful of times.
It’s not a surprise that royals love their tartan, but it looks like the Suit star is also no stranger to wearing it.
It only goes to show that Meghan doesn’t have to change much in her looks to match her new social status.
Commonwealth Day is the first official engagement of the royal-to-be. The Queen, Prince Charles, and Camilla were also in attendance as well as the UK Prime Minister Theresa May.
The annual service is celebrated by the 53 countries in the Commonwealth, and this year, it included a live performance from the former One Direction member, Liam Payne.
