All hail the birthday boy
Ask your parents about the most high-end movie of the 1970s, and without doubts, you will hear about the film Grease. Starring John Travolta, Jeff Conaway, Stockard Channing, Susan Buckner, and many others, the great masterpiece made a lot of noise in the world at that time.
Most of the actors still continue their cinematography career with John Travolta as a great example.
Getting inside the film
Apart from the most glamorous actors, the film has some more secrets to be revealed. Originally, the Guardian Angel role must have been played by Elvis Presley, but the pop star, unfortunately, refused, passing the place for Frankie Avalon.
Even the youngest actor (Dinah Manoff was 19 at that time) did pass for the role of a high school student. All others were older and had to use a lot of makeup help to fit the screen.
The Academy Award nominated song, Hopelessly Devoted to You, performed by Olivia Newton-John. The producer decided that the actress required an impactful ballad for her role.
After filming the drag racing scene, some of the cast members got terribly ill. That is because the conditions under the bridge were poor with a lot of cold, filthy water everywhere around.
Despite all the interesting peculiarities of the movie, the real popularity it deserved due to its songs. The most remarkable of them was You’re The One That I Want that John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John performed together at the fun-fair.
